Alpha Release (1.0)
It's been a while since I did anything with the pokemon franchise. One of the earliest fan works I published to the internet was some smut based on Pokemon Gold version. That was 2009.
Several months ago I was on /vp/ and found A New Dawn. At the time I was working on some other projects, but after playing through that visual novel and seeing several people (including myself!) asking for a walkthrough, I decided I should write one. So I went through every possible scene and started looking at the code to figure out what did what, and I started to realize that I could probably learn how this Ren'Py thing works. I could totally make one of these. So on the first of July I looked up a quickstart tutorial and started writing.
I have pretty much zero coding experience, but Ren'Py is dead simple. If this visual novel looks basic and amateurish, it's because I am an amateur and I like working with basic tools. I'm a writer primarily. I'd love to have an artist and a real coder, but that costs money and I wasn't planning on making money off this project. I don't want to attract the lawyers over at the pokemon company anyway.
