Version 1.6 release


Version 1.6 is now available. As of this update, I consider the game to be completely finished. Nothing is missing and any more updates will just be fixing bugs and stuff. I had originally hoped to get this out last fall, but my artist got caught up with real-life issues. It happens.

Also, you can now donate to me on Ko-Fi! Making this game took over a year of my free time, and I was never doing this for the money. But I spent over $1600 on art commissions for this, so it would be really nice if I made some of that money back. Anything extra I make is going to help fund the next game.

New Content:

The game now has a total of four NSFW scenes (two with Cynthia and two with Jasmine) with 100% original art by Rigaeru, Suitenan, and Meeps123. There's a ton of art there.

Cynthia has some new facial expressions, mainly involving opening or closing her eye.

Both Cynthia and Jasmine now hold things in various scenes, including drinks, poké balls, a phone, and a piece of paper.

Kate now wears a bluetooth ear piece when she gets a phone call.

Added three new music tracks that play during the party in the bar at the end of day 4.

Added a chat scene where you ask Cynthia if she believes in ghosts.

Minor Changes:

You can now blackmail Jasmine from her house. The result is the same as doing it in the gym, but some of the lead-up is slightly different. The important thing is you have two theoretical chances to blackmail her once you have the information to do so.

Amphy now contributes in battle in the bad karma showdown. This doesn't change who wins the battle but it was weird for Amphy to do nothing.

There was a somewhat specific set of circumstances that could lead to Nelson inexplicably teleporting between the Docks and the Gym (or vice-versa) on day 3. This has been fixed by making him not show up in the Docks if he has a reason to be at the Gym instead. (A different NPC gives you the same intel, so this doesn't really change gameplay/story, it just makes makes more sense now)

Made an edited sprite for Red where the 96 on his shirt is flipped, for when he faces to the other side.

Renamed the "Antihero" achievement to now be called, "If You Can't Beat Them" to hopefully give a better clue for what it's about.

Reworded a line where Cynthia calls Iris a "jungle girl." I misremembered some of Iris's backstory; I thought she was from some jungle tribe, far away from civilization. With that not being true, I realized that the way that Cynthia said it just sounded kind of racist. (Thanks, Safety Steve)

Revised a line of dialogue where Cynthia heavily implies that the only way to rescue Amphy is to convince Betsy to go to a PC and release the kidnapped pokémon, since that ended up not being true.

Cleaned up the sprites for the pokégear, Houndoom (again), Amphy, the poké ball, and I think a few others.

The animation for Rock Slide now hits both bird pokémon. 

Added a background image for when the player gets arrested after aborting the bad karma ending, instead of just showing a black screen.

Added a (small) black background to the quick menu on the choice screen, so the text is more readable.

Added credits for the three random people on the internet whose art I used for things shown on computer screens.

Bug Fixes:

The "saved game" sound effect no longer plays when loading a game. It only plays when saving.

Numerous small adjustments to UI things on mobile. The biggest one was the text inside the HP boxes being very badly aligned, which has been fixed. (Why did no one tell me how messed up they were?)

Fixed sprites in the epilogue and the party, where Cynthia was multiplying (thanks vemrl).

Fixed some niche cases where the game could refer to Betsy by name before you've actually been introduced to her.

Fixed a problem with game logic where you could visit Jasmine's house, not go inside, and then go and talk to Jasmine about having gone inside her house even though that didn't actually happen.

The bad karma ending now properly removes the flag that tells the game that this is your first playthrough, like the other endings do.

Lots of small errors and edits to spelling, grammar, and general style, and a few general consistencies with canon. Things like changing "sledge hammer" to "sledgehammer," adding hyphenation to things like "guilt-ridden," changing "mean time" to "meantime," consistently hyphenating pokémon types, Cynthia mistakenly referring to Eelektrik as a water-type pokémon, Cynthia mistakenly referring to Garchomp as male, and adding or removing a lot of commas all over the damn place. The ghosts sidequest, in particular, had a lot of typos that I fixed.

Updated and/or edited a several backgrounds. The new gym's sky is all the right color, the hotel coffee shop is new picture with a slightly more sensible camera angle, the ship taking you to Sinnoh is different, and lots of ceilings were replaced.

Holy shit its actually out, full release.

Congratulations dude, really, I honestly thought you were taking some time off or something because I didn't want to get my hopes up but this is amazing.

Can't wait to 100% this game all over again.
